Material selection is becoming more considered across many projects, with greater attention to balancing performance, availability, and cost. In response, we have introduced a new 13mm compact laminate range, Compax, as part of our approach to providing flexible material options across different project requirements.
Compax compact laminate is a premium grade, high density surfacing material designed for environments that demand durability, hygiene, and long-term performance. It is widely used in wet area partitions where standard laminates are not suitable, and provides a reliable and economical option for these applications.
Material and performance
Compax is a 13mm compact laminate with a black core or colour core, supplied in a matt (suede) finish. It is suitable for wet areas and high-traffic environments, and is designed for use across the same applications typically specified for compact laminate systems, including:
- Public amenities
- Schools and universities
- Commercial buildings
- Council and municipal facilities
- Entertainment and sporting venues
In selected finishes, a Wildwood Matt finish is also available, providing an alternative surface texture for specific design outcomes.
*Compacts: 13mm compact laminate with black core or colour core, supplied in a matt (suede) finish. The Wildwood Matt (new) finish is available in three selected colours.
Range and finishes
The Compax range includes a broad selection of finishes to support different design requirements. These include woodgrains, solid colours, subtle tones, and stone-inspired finishes.
Selected colours, including Supreme Oak, Classic Walnut, and English Walnut, are available in the Wildwood Matt finish.
Certifications and compliance
Compax has been developed to meet environmental and health standards expected in commercial and public projects. Certifications include:
- GreenTag GreenRate Level A Certification
- GreenTag Platinum Health Certification
- Certified anti-virus and antimicrobial protection
- GREENGUARD Gold Certification for indoor air quality
- FSC® certified for responsible sourcing
- End-of-life recycling solution available
The product is also supported by a 10-year warranty, providing confidence in long-term performance.
Designed for specification flexibility
The addition of Compax provides another material option within the TPI system. It allows architects, builders, and project managers to consider compact laminate across a wider range of project conditions, while maintaining consistent performance.
As with all TPI systems, Compax is supported by TPI’s design, manufacturing, and installation capabilities, ensuring consistency from specification through to delivery on site.
A considered extension of the range
Compax has been introduced as a practical extension to the TPI offering. It reflects the need for adaptable solutions across different project types, while maintaining the performance expected of compact laminate in commercial and public environments.
